Solebury is a township in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and has a population of roughly 8,558 (2019). At one point in time the township was inhabited by a group of Native American Algonquian Indians, the Lenni-Lenape. Of the multiple tribes from this group, the “Turtle Tribe” occupied the area that later became Solebury. The township was incorporated around the year of 1702, and the first settlers were drawn to the area by its fertile soils.

Rice’s Market – Starting in the spring of 1860 a Mr. A.L. Rice settled in Solebury Township on a farm which is now the location of the Market. Rice would auction his products along with other locals throughout the year. With this, word spread and other farmers would bring their cattle and goods to offer for sale. Over the years, the market has evolved to an indoor/outdoor shopper’s paradise and is the oldest and largest outdoor market in Bucks County.
